Arkansas has confirmed that second-year tight end Garrett Uekman from Little Rock Catholic died this morning at approximately 11:15 a.m. November 20, 2011 in his Northwest Quad dormitory room at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, AR.

Emergency medical crews were called when Uekman was found unconscious and unresponsive at 11:17 a.m., but attempts to revive him were unsuccessful and he was pronounced dead at 12:10 p.m. this afternoon at Washington Regional Hospital.

He had been seen playing video games in his room at around 10:15 a.m. by his roommate and appeared in good health. According to the Washington County corner he had an enlarged heart and there were no drugs or alcohol in his system.
