Now it was time to make another move to a completely IBM compatible computer and get serious about making the computer do what I needed it to do to design websites.  So, I purchased a Compaq Presario computer and purchased the software for designing websites.   Designing websites has always been my dream.  As I have said before, I have never had any formal training in website design, it has all been self taught.  It has been my privilege to be webmaster of several websites, such as Little Rock Central High School Class of 1957.  I am also the webmaster for the Evening Optimist Club of Greater Beaumont, in Beaumont, TX, and have several other websites that I serve as webmaster.  My next challenge is to learn to prepare forms on the web that can be filled out and returned.  

      To better serve me, I have purchased a new Dell Laptop computer.  I have all my programs on both computers, so I can go into field and service my clients better.  I do a lot of computer consulting, and with the use of my laptop, I can better serve the needs of my clients.  I also use the laptop to back-up data.  I also have a back-up program that backs-up my critical data each night.  This has been a life saver for me, when the computer fails.

      Another field in computers that interested me was computer programming.  I spent 40 years in the group insurance business and I discovered there was not much software to do insurance proposals in the mid 1980's.  I began to start designing computer programs to do insurance proposals.  The company that I was with at that time did not have any software to do insurance proposals.  Later, they took my ideas and designed a computer program.  I took my computer programming skills to another company and sold my first insurance proposal software.

     As I have indicated previously, designing websites had always been my dream.  Therefore when I got my computer system setup, I went into designing websites.  My first encounter with website design was a complete disaster when I tried to purchase a website service that did not respond to my needs.  After that experience I purchased the website software called "FrontPage" and began to learn to use the program to design professional websites.  After many hours of self study and working with my Internet Provider, EarthLink, I was able to achieve the kind of websites with a professional design that I desired.
